Cancun Part 1

Here is part one of our trip to Mexico.  We spent a lot of time at the beach and at the pool at our condo so it’s not a lot of great, interesting pics but it is an idea of how we spent out 10 days.
Woke up at 4am to head to the airport.  Kids were good sports for the most part.
The flight attendants got a kick out Penelope’s doll who is also named Penelope being buckled in.
Hanging out in Dallas.  Because we were not staying in an all inclusive it was cheaper to fly through here.
Arrived at our condo.  The girls were trying to see the ocean and the pool, but it was too dark.  Kinda cool to hear the ocean though
We drove to Chicin Itza to see the ruins
If you or your children have watched Dora the Explorer this might look familiar to you.  Dora went back in time to visit Chichin Itza before it was ruins.  Finley was able to recognize it right away.
After lunch we headed to the Ik’Kil (I think) Cenote.  It was pretty awesome!
This was at Akumel Playa.  This is one of the areas we are considering for next year.  The other is Playa Del Carmen – thats of course if we come back to Mexico and not go somewhere else.
Getting ready to go snorkelling for the first time
Finley and Greg saw some sea turtles on their snorkelling adventures
Safety first…hahah
Not a bad view for 9am….it was heavenly
This was Mercado 25 + 28.  Mercado 28 was good but Mercado 25 was pretty gross
The girls playing with their new maracas.  they loved them!
This is in a place very similar to Princes’ Island Park in Calgary without it being an island.
The shopping in Cancun was completely ridiculous.  Seriously it rivals places I have been to like LA or NYC.  Insane shopping!! LV, Gucci, Coach, Tory Burch, Tiffany….you name it, they had it and for more money then it was in North America….lots of tourist money in Cancun that’s for sure!
Pretending to surf
Absolutely without a doubt the photo that best describes our vacation.  Best photo ever!!
Jumping In
Cerveza’s, Sun, Water, Relaxation…..
my view while going for a run on the beach
Our condo behind us on the beach
And so this concludes our first part of our trip.
