You are such a sweet, happy girl – most of the time!! You are feisty, fierce, slightly dramatic and have a flair for fashion.
You love to be outdoors, whether it’s riding your bike or playing in the backyard. You love it. You love camping and hiking and roasting hotdogs and marshmallows. You even went fishing for the first time at Lake O’Hara and loved it even if you didn’t catch anything.
You went canoeing for the first time. You loved it.
You love the beach, the ocean and the sand. I think you could build sand castles every day of your life and be happy. This was in Hawaii. You loved it there and ask all the time when we get to go back.
You can ride your bike down hill with training wheels. You are much better at balancing and you are getting better with steering. I didn’t take my training wheels off until I was like 8 so maybe you will be just like me!
You recently starting rock climbing and you LOVE it!!!
You started wearing glasses this year. You look so grown up in them!
You met Mayor Nenshi shortly after the floods that ravaged our beautiful city. I hope you look back at this photo when you are older and realize how amazing the mayor was and how incredible he was during this difficult time. I hope you also remember how we loaded up bags of stuff for the victims, their children and their pets when they lost all that they own. You were so generous in giving your clothes, books and even some beloved toys.
You love watching sports!! You love the Roughriders, the Flames, the Patriots and the Yankees. You love watching NASCAR and get sad when the Candy Car (Kyle Busch) or the Home Depot car are not doing well.
You are a silly girl always looking to have fun!
You played soccer again this summer and were so much better then the year before!
We went to Disneyland where you met Rapunzel. You were awestruck when you saw her and it melted my hear just a little.
Finley, it’s impossible to mention all the growth you have made this year and the impact that you have had on our lives. It’s hard to believe that just a few short years ago, you were starting a specialized school because you couldn’t really speak to a very happy, vocal little girl in junior kindergarden. You have worked hard on this and I hope that it continues. You are a smart, friendly, beautiful little girl and so proud that you are ours.
