First Day of Pre-School - Learning Experience

Today was Finley’s first day at The Learning Experience.  It is a regular pre-school with regular kids.  We are hoping that this will be a great experience for Finley and help her beat her speech problems.  They do staggered entry on the first day and her time was 1:30 – 2:30.  She will typically go from 1:30 – 3:30 Tuesday and Thursday.  It is only a 3 minute drive from here so it is AWESOME!!!!
So excited for school to start.  She picked out a dress to wear and got her back pack all ready to go.

Showing off her new Rapunzel backpack.  She also has the matching lunch kit.  She is very excited about it!!

Very happy to be going to school!!

When we went to buy Finley’s new backpack at the Disney Store, Penelope insisted on getting her own.  Thankfully they were on sale!  She thought she was going to school too!

Getting ready to head to school

Someone was also ready to go

Finley was very confused when we got to school.  To her, school has always been Pacekids so she couldn’t figure out why we were at this place when I told her we were going to school.

Waiting for the Red Door to open!!

Also waiting – note the back pack :)

Playing on the yellow bus during play time.
Penelope and I stayed for the hour.  We learned about the curriculum and other info and activities.  They played a naming game and then parents were sent out to sign some consent forms while the kids danced and sang.  Finley seemed to be quite excited about it so that is great news.
To be completely honest, I was so nervous about sending Finley to a regular pre-school that I thought I was going to throw up.  I worry that she won’t advance like we hope, that she won’t have any friends because they won’t be able to understand her, that the other kids will be mean to her because she can’t speak like they can. The teachers seem to be really great and I hope this isn’t the case.  Only time will tell how Finley will do but fingers crossed it all works out great!
