Gooseberry Campground

Last weekend we headed to Gooseberry Campground which is only about 30 minutes from our house.  It sounds lame but it was quite nice and the change of scenery and fresh air was a welcome treat.  We couldn’t go anywhere that Greg didn’t have cell service as there was shutdown in Fort Mac and he needed to be on call incase of any problems and there were a few.
Getting ready to set up the campsite
She was trying to make my book disappear

Waiting out the rainstorm.  It was fierce.  I was in the tent reading my book.  Greg and the girls ate nachos under the tarp.
This was a driveway to a campsite.  Thanks to mother nature, this campsite is no more.  There were a bunch like this.

We walked down into the water or at least where it used to be

These are all photos of damage that is still present from the flood nearly a year ago.  It still amazes me all that happened and continues to happen because of the flood

This is a pet lamb.  The camper adopted her from the hutterites after her mother turned her away.  Her name is Baby and wear a pink collar.

Roasting marshmallows

Grandpa Don and Andrea came out for the campfire.  The girls were very happy.  Another plus to being so close to the city
Penelope the next morning stuffing my sleeping bag after she finished hers.  I have these girls trained well ;) I hate stuffing my sleeping bag and refuse to do it.

Getting ready to head home.  It was a quick trip but well worth it.  Can’t wait to go back again!
