Oregon Coast 2012: Day 8

After spending yesterday exploring the wonderful, hipster side of Portland, today we headed out to the Columbia Gorge to see some waterfalls and do a hike or two.  We first had breakfast at IHOP which was not very good.  Everything was cooked in butter and that was all you could taste.
Our first stop was a nice little hike up Lurch Mountain.  On a nice, clear day you can see all the big volcanic mountains but today all we saw was cloud.  It would have been awesome if not

We then hiked out to Bridal Veil Falls which was really nice.

Our last waterfall of the day

It was pretty awesome.  We hiked up to the bridge

We drove into Cascade Locks where we had lunch at a little waterfront cafe.  We then headed over to the playground so the kids could run around.  Once done, we drove back into Portland and did some shopping at the Lloyd Mall.  I bought a pair of sweet New Balance WT20’s for running. I will post a photo later of them.
After some shopping, we stopped at Joe’s Crab Shack for supper.  AMAZING

Penelope did not like hers.  At all.

In season right now is Alaskan Queen Crab so that’s what I had.  It was hands down the best crab I have had in my entire life.

Greg’s seafood steam pot.
My question after eating here, is why did it take so long.  We have seen this restaurant in Florida + California but didn’t eat there.  Now it will be on the list everytime we go to  a city with one!!
Thank you Portland for a great few days.  Off now to Seattle, Shopping + Derek Jeter!
