Summer Vacation 2011: Day 15-17

On Day 15 we woke up super early and took down the tent and started our journey to Spokane, WA to do some shopping.  We stopped in Deer Ridge for lunch at a Pizza Hut.  Who knew that eat in pizza  huts even existed?  it was delicious and a nice break from the car.
We also collected our 18th stamp in our “Passport To Your National Parks” passport which is super cool idea that the Parks program in the US had.  I really wish Canada would adopt this program.  Basically each time you visit a national monument or a national park or historic site, you get a stamp.  We collected 18 stamps on our trip!!  That is amazing!  Knorr Ranch was very similar to Heritage Park here in Calgary.
From here we drove to Missoula, MT which is one of my favorite cities.  It is so pretty there.  We stopped at Target where I purchased some clothes, returned my pants at REI and checked out the TJ Maxx.  We continued on our journey to Spokane.
We arrived in Spokane around 6pm and had supper at The Onion.  If you are ever in Spokane, you must eat here.  It is so tasty and the staff is amazing.  After dinner, we headed to the Red Lion Hotel where we all happily bathed and went to bed.
Day 16 started at IHOP.  I wasn’t feeling well so I just had oatmeal but it was pretty good.  We headed to Target and then to Spokane Valley Mall which housed TJ Maxx and Nordstrom Rack.  Here I bought a pair of Tory Burch Sunglassses, a pair of Coach shoes, and a pair of Citizen of Humanity Jeans.  Greg grabbed 2 pairs of shoes and Finley got a pair of pink DC shoes for $16.  I found a pair of Keen’s for $50 at REI and a pair of grey sweater uggs for $109 at Macy’s.  We ended the day at PF Changs.  It is probably one of my most favorite restaurants in the US and I highly recommend you try it out if you ever in the states.  We went back to the hotel where we went to bed early for our journey back to Calgary.
Day 17 started and we loaded up the car and headed to Carl’s Jr for breakfast.  It was delicious.  It is our favorite fast food joint and would be in heaven if it expanded to Calgary.  We stopped at the Target in Couer D’ilene (pardon the spelling) as well as the Walmart and then drove home.  It was a long drive home.  We were stuck at the border for more than an hour and then we had lunch in Cranbrook and got home around 8pm.  We were so happy to be home!!
It was a fantastic trip and we had a blast.  Can’t wait to go back to Washington + South Dakota and even Montana.  Yellowstone – I just don’t know about you!!
Thanks everybody for reading our vacation blog.  We will be back to normal blogging soon!!  I am tired of blogging about our trip!!
