Working Out On Vacation???

Today as I write this, we are about 19 hours from our scheduled departure from Calgary to our tropical destination in Mexico.  I am packing what you  see in the photo below in my suitcase in hopes that I used it while on said vacation.


We were in Mexico just under 2 years ago.  I packed my runners to go for a run on the beach.  I went once and hated it.  Sand on the beach is like running in un-shoveled sidewalks for me and just leads me into bad knees and tight calves which I don't particularly want to have during my vacation or even after.  That being said, I am hoping that there are some good sidewalks in so that I can get in some runs in the warm weather on pavement.  We are in Mexico from Friday to Friday so I figure I can get at least 4 runs in - Saturday, Monday, Wednesday + Friday.   

I can't fit my roller into my suitcase so I am bring my orb instead.  OK I could fit it into my suitcase but that would me leaving several items behind which really isn't an option for me.  I am hoping the orb will help relieve the tightness in my hip and groin while away since they are currently bothering me now.  The yellow resistance band is for my it band stretches that I do each day to help strengthen my hips and knees.  I am not convinced these make a difference but I will continue doing them.  The purple resistance band is good for stretching my calves and doing some ab work with resistance bands.  I am hoping to get a few equipment free workouts ready tonight with hopes that I complete at least 2 workouts while on vacation.  

So as you can see I do have very good intentions of staying active while laying on the beach with a  slushy cold drink in my hands but it remains to be seen whether or not I complete any :)
