2018 Lululemon Seawheeze Training Shorts

One of the best parts of the Seawheeze are the shorts they send you out before the training for the race starts.  You are so excited to see them and then have them in your possession that you don't even care if you like them or not. This year, the shorts came out a month later than previous years since this years race is in September and not in August like is always has been.

Before we take a look at this years shorts, lets take a walk down memory lane.

I have been fortunate enough to be able to get into 5 Seawheezes so far which is pretty awesome.  It gets harder and harder to get into every year so it is not something that I take for granted.  I have arranged the shorts in the order of the years I have ran them: 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.  Despite all of the excitememnt I had waiting for these shorts to arrive each year, they all now sit in my drawer in the pile that I call the "ones I don't wear anymore but can't let myself sell" pile. I occasionally wear the 2015 edition but not the rest of them. I can also honestly say that I wouldn't look twice at these shorts if they were for sale on their website.  I hate that I feel that way about them because I know they work really hard on designing them and making them work with a theme but I just don't.

Last Tuesday, I received an email that my shorts had been processed and that they would soon be shipping.  It was 50/50 on whether my shorts would arrive before or after I received the shipping notification since 2 out of 4 pairs arrived before the shipping email haha. Finally after what felt like forever, I received my shipping email saying that they would arrive on Monday.  I was so excited.  However, Monday came and no shorts were dropped off and when I checked again, it was changed to arrive on Wednesday.  I was very excited to arrive home yesterday and find this red package sitting on my doorstep!  My shorts were finally here!

I had already known what they looked like because social media haha but I was still excited to get them in my hands and look at them.  The original photo I saw, it made it looklike the black was the bottom of the short, not the liner and it looked like they made the shorts but ran out off fabric so used the other print to make it up.  Turns out that is not the case (thank god haha).

Here is a close up of the print. I think i have a cool racer back in every colour on these shorts so I should have no trouble finding something to wear with them haha.  I love these shorts so much and it makes me excited to see what they will have at the showcase store this year too.  These are thef irst pair of shorts that I have received that I absolutely would have bought immedaitely on the app without a second thought. I can't wait to wear these and just might rip the tags off for my run tonight which would be the quickest I have ever detagged haha!

The pocket coach that came with the shorts might the coolest training booklet that Lululemon has sent out with the training shorts. It gives you definitions of various running terminology and then has a diary that you enter into all of your stats for your run as well as a breakdown of the week for you.  I typically never follow the lululemon training plan since I already have a set schedule of running, bootcamp, active recovery day and a rest day. It works well for me and I don't forsee myself changing that but maybe I will check it out throughout the months leading up to the race.

Just over 3 months until race weekend in Vancouver with Heather and the arrival of these shorts has got me so excited!  I can't wait!
